Women's Soccer Closes Season With Loss At PLU

TACOMA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's soccer team concluded its season with a 3-0 defeat on the road against Pacific Lutheran University in Northwest Conference action on Sunday.

Pacific Lutheran set the tone early, striking first in the 35th minute when Ally Tattar scored off an assist from Liv Olson. The Lutes doubled their lead in the 56th minute through Olivia Boehm, with Kaitlyn Lemus supplying the assist. Tattar capped the scoring in the 83rd minute, finding the net again with help from Kiana Gutierrez as Pacific Lutheran sealed the 3-0 result.​

Whitman generated offensive pressure, recording 12 shots—with 4 on target—but could not solve the Pacific Lutheran goalkeepers. Leah Barnes was particularly active for the Blues, tallying five shots (three on goal), while Katherine Sand added two shots. Whitman earned nine corner kicks to Pacific Lutheran's one and kept the contest close until late in the second half.​

Goalkeepers Eleanor Johnson and Seanee Still split duties for Whitman, each handling a half and combining for two saves on the day. Despite their efforts, the resolute Lutes attack found three goals. Pacific Lutheran's Abby Winkler and Abbey Goetz posted a combined four saves to keep Whitman off the board.​

This final result saw Whitman wrap up the year with a 5-6-9 overall record (4-5-7 in conference).
