Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Whitman College women's tennis team returned to action on Saturday with a pair of split squad road matches, one at LC State and the other a Northwest Conference match at Whitworth. The Blues (3-2, 2-1 NWC) fell to the Warriors but came out on top at Whitworth.

The Warriors won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, but the top three singles matches all went three sets.

Illina Jha and Sascha Wells both rallied from a set down but were unable to pull off a set three win to take the match. Longpre, on the other hand, got the job done on the No. 3 court. She played the most exciting match of the afternoon, rallying and winning a set three tiebreaker for a thrilling victory over April Buckingham 1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (8-6).

The Blues took care of business in their first conference road win. Whitworth's lone point in the match did come after winning two doubles matches to claim the point heading to singles play. With a doubles court win by both teams, the point came down to the result on the No. 2 court which saw Erica Mock and Jules Thompson fall 6-4 to the Buc pair of Paige Oliver and Audry Judson.

Whitman won all six singles matches, five coming via sweeps. The match-clincher took place on the No. 4 court when Mock dominated Olivia Corbett 6-0, 6-1.

The Blues are back home next Sunday, Feb. 23 when they host Pacific at 10:00 a.m.
