Men's Tennis Breezes By Willamette

SALEM, Ore. - The Whitman College men's team hit the road for its first Northwest Conference and took down Willamette with a dominant 7-0 win to improve to 2-0 in Northwest Conference play.

The Blues won all singles matches, but did see the Bearcats take one doubles match. Whitman, nevertheless, earned the doubles point after wins on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts. Cameron Yang and Lucas Huang opened with a dominant 6-0 win at the three before Diego Guzman and Charles Rush clinched the point with their win at second doubles.

The Blues did not drop one set in singles en route to the win. Charles Boyden blanked Andre Lief 6-0, 6-0 at fifth singles and three wins later Whitman secured the win. Alexander Stage's 6-2, 6-2 win on the No. 1 court ended up being the match clincher.

The Blues close out the weekend at Pacific looking to remain undefeated in league play. Doubles is set to start at 11:00 a.m.
