Women's Tennis Blanks George Fox

NEWBERG, Ore. - After dropping its Northwest Conference opener, the Whitman College women's tennis team has run off four straight conference wins, the latest a 7-0 blanking of George Fox on Saturday afternoon.

The doubles point came down to the No. 3 court. With a split over the first two finishes, the Blues pair of Sascha Wells and Ilina Jha came through with a 6-4 win on the No. 3 court over Cassey Hitch and Ari Rader.

Whitman dominated singles with only one match going to a third set. The result was secured within an hour of singles play starting, the first win coming at the five with Arianna Castellanos' 6-1, 6-0 win. 

Teleya Blunt at the one, and Wells at the six, finished simultaneously with 6-0, 6-1 wins and gave the Blues the win.

Whitman closes out the weekend at Linfield. Match time is set for 11:00 a.m.
