Men's Tennis Falls To Bowdoin, Babson

CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Whitman College men's tennis team battled a pair of the nation's elite but came up short to both, falling to Bowdoin and Babson by 7-0 scores on Tuesday.

The matches were the first two of an arduous but dividend-paying five-day, eight-match trip to Southern California.

The matches were played in split format for the Blues who fielded one lineup in their early afternoon match against Bowdoin and separate lineup against Babson later that evening.

The top flight pair of Alexander Stage and Noah Baker had the most success, pushing Babson's Ole Lepsoe and Alexander Merson to a tiebreaker on the No. 1 court before falling 7-6 (3).

The trip continues on Wednesday with matches against Amherst (9:00 a.m.) and Cal Lutheran (2:00 p.m.)
