Otte, Petz, Malzewski Selected All-Northwest Conference

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Whitman College first baseman Halen Otte, catcher Nate Petz and utility player Luke Malzewski have been named to the 2026 Northwest All-Conference Baseball Team. Otte earned a spot on the first team, Malzewski and Petz received second-team honors following standout performances during the NWC season.

Otte's first-team selection underscores his status as one of the league's premier middle-of-the-order bats, building on a decorated career that already includes previous first-team all-conference and all-region recognition. Otte has been a consistent run producer and power threat, anchoring the Blues' lineup throughout the season. He blasted six homeruns during league play ranking him in a tie for sixth in that category.

Malzewski's Second Team All-NWC recognition highlights his impact as a versatile run producer in the heart of the Whitman order. His OPS of 1.115 ranked second in the conference. He was a key piece in several of the Blues' biggest offensive outings, coming through with timely extra-base hits and multi-RBI games against conference foes.

Petz caps a breakout campaign with his first all-conference award, a second-team All-NWC after emerging as an everyday presence behind the plate and in the infield. The sophomore delivered several standout offensive performances in conference play, including multi-homer and multi-hit efforts that helped fuel Whitman's attack. His 39 total hits ranks third among conference competitors.
