Men's Golf Finishes Second, Women's Golf 3rd At Pacific Invite

BANKS, Ore. - The Whitman College men's and women's golf teams completed the second and final day of the Pacific Invitational, placing second and third respectively by the conclusion of the tournament on Sunday at the Quail Golf Course.

Ellena Jeong led the women's squad, carding a 14 over 158 to finish third on the individual leaderboard. Malaina Sidhu finished 22 over 166 to finish seventh, and Cindy Luo finished in a tie for 13th after shooting one stroke better on Day 2.

The men's squad was narrowly edged by Linfield for the title who carded only six strokes better (500-506). Three players finished in the top 10 including Alexander Knox and Mason Remington who placed in a tie for second with each other after firing a one under 143. Knox came alive on Day 2, carding three strokes better to put the Blues in contention for the title.

The women's team is next in action at the PLU Invitational (Sept. 24-25) with the men off until October when they compete in the Whitworth Invitational (Oct. 8-9)
