Women's Soccer Lands Five All-Conference Selections

Full Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Kiki Glorioso's first-team selection headlined five Whitman College women's soccer players who were named to the Northwest All-Conference Women's Soccer Team, announced Friday by the league office.

Also garnering all-conference honors were second-team selections Leah Barnes, Molly Beaulieu and Virginia Hunt; and first year Ellie Cortes-Muniz who earned an honorable mention nod.

Glorioso, last season's NWC Freshman of the Year, anchored a backline that was one of the stingiest in goals allowed during conference play. They allowed only eight goals all season which ranked them second in the league, only one goal conceded more than conference leader Pacific Lutheran.

Hunt and Barnes were key cogs in the Whitman attack. Leah Barnes ranked second in the league with five assists and Hunt's team-leading six goals put her sixth in conference. Beaulieu's second-team honor was her second all-conference honor of her career.

The Blues made history yet again this season. Their 11 overall wins tied the 1984 WCIC championship for the most in program history and marked the first time the program posted back-to-back 10 wins seasons.
