Halen Otte Named ABCA/Rawlings Second-Team All-Region

GREENSBORO, N.C. - For the second straight season, Whitman baseball junior catcher and designated hitter Halen Otte has been selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region Team. Otte earned a second-team nod this season after garnering a third team selection one year ago.

Otte, selected as a designated hitter, was again one of the top hitters in the Northwest Conference and was named First Team All-NWC for the second straight season.

He finished tied for the league lead with 10 homeruns and was third in RBI (58), and fifth in OPS (1.066) and runs scored (25).

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
