Baseball Earns Eight Northwest All-Conference Spots

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Led by three first-team selections, the Northwest Conference handed out its baseball postseason honors with eight total members of the Whitman College baseball team named to the Northwest All-Conference baseball team. The announcement came on Thursday by the league office.

Halen Otte, Beck Maguire and Russell Petersen all garnered first-team recognition. Otte was named to the first team for the second straight season and Beck Maguire took a leap up after an honorable mention nod in 2024. Peterson's inclusion on the all-conference team was the first of his young career.

Also garnering honors were Wyatt Adams, Nate Petz, AJ Romero, Brandon Ting and Tristan Buehring who all earned honorable mention recognition.

Otte, selected as a designated hitter, was again one of the top hitters in the conference. He finished tied for the league lead with 10 homeruns and was third in RBI (58), and fifth in OPS (1.066) and runs scored (25).

Maguire, in addition to his contributions at the plate, was a steady hand at shortstop. He finished fourth in assists (66) and boasted a .915 fielding percentage. He also ranked ninth in the conference in hits (33).

Peterson was one of four starting pitchers selected to the first team. He was as reliable and durable as any pitcher in the Whitman rotation and led the league in innings pitched (59.2) and struck out 60 batters, also a league best.
