PORTLAND, Ore. — The Whitman College women's tennis team capped a flawless Northwest Conference road swing with a dominant 6-1 win at Lewis & Clark College on Sunday at the LC Tennis Dome.

The Blues (6-2, 6-0 NWC) swept all three doubles courts to grab early momentum, dropping just seven total games across the opening three matches. At No. 3, Gloria Lau and Julia Longpre struck first with a 6-2 win, followed closely by a 6-3 victory from Renata Rosell and Nana Vang at the top spot. Bailey Bell and Sascha Wells completed the doubles sweep with a 6-2 result at No. 2.

Whitman kept its foot down in singles, claiming straight-set wins on four of the first five courts to clinch the team victory in routine fashion. Rosell was efficient at No. 2, rolling 6-0, 6-2, while Wells matched her at No. 3 with a 6-3, 6-2 triumph. Bell delivered a gritty 7-5, 6-1 win at No. 4, and Lau closed out a 6-4, 6-4 decision on court five.

At the top of the lineup, Vang outlasted Lewis & Clark's Susanna Anand in a three-set battle, edging the Pioneer standout in a match tiebreak after splitting the first two sets 6-4, 2-6. First-year Natalie Cruz rounded out the Whitman scoring with a comeback win at No. 6, rebounding from a tight first-set tiebreak to earn a match tiebreak victory and stamp the road weekend as a perfect one for the Blues.

With the result, Whitman remains unbeaten in conference play and return home next weekend for matches against Willamette and Puget Sound
