Whitman Wins Wildcat Invitational Ahead of NWC Championship

McMINNVILLE, Ore. — Whitman College men's golf capped its regular season on a high note, capturing the team title at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Linfield University over the weekend at Michelbook Country Club.

The Blues finished 3-under par as a team for the tournament, surging on the opening day with a 5-under round before closing with a 2-over finish Sunday. Linfield placed second at 3-over, while Willamette took third at 8-over.

Whitman's sophomore standout Grady Brown birdied the last two holes to force a playoff for medalist honors. Brown then went on to win the playoff on the first hole of sudden death.

Fellow Whitman golfer Mason Remington joined the top tier of the leaderboard, tying for third at even par (E) after rounds of 2-under and 2-over. The Blues' depth across the lineup proved decisive as they separated from host Linfield in the closing holes.

The victory serves as a strong momentum boost heading into next weekend's Northwest Conference Championship, where the Blues look to contend for the league crown.
