Men's Golf Dominant In Season Opener

SPOKANE, Wash. — Grady Brown eagled the final hole to surge to the top of the individual leaderboard and lead the Whitman College men's golf team to an 11-stroke victory at the Whitworth Fall Invitational on Monday.

The two-day tournament marked the opening event of the 2026-27 season for the Blues, who put together a dominant team performance against Northwest Conference competition. Whitman led by eight strokes after Sunday's opening round and fired a four under at today's final round.

Brown's closing eagle provided the decisive finish in the race for individual medalist honors, but not to be outdone was newcomer Isaac Elaimy who posted a runner-up finish. He fired a five under par, only two back of Brown's seve- under winning performance.

Brown's top leaderboard finish, continuing a track record of strong tournament finishes for the Blues. Brown previously won medalist honors at Whitman's Confluence Classic in fall 2025 and claimed a playoff victory at the Wildcat Invitational last spring.

Whitman's depth proved the difference over the 36-hole event, as the Blues built a comfortable advantage in the team standings and finished 11 strokes clear of the field.

The win gives Whitman an early boost as it begins its fall schedule. The Blues are coming off a 2025-26 campaign in which Brown emerged as a regular contributor, and he enters his junior season after helping Whitman capture the Wildcat Invitational team title last April.
