Mandy Rockwell, a superior outside hitter, earned All-NWC honors in each of her four years. Her finest season was her junior campaign when she led the conference and nation in digs per game, in addition to topping the league in kills.
The two-time captain finished her career as the all-time Whitman leader in digs (1,509), kills (1,201) and services (167). Rockwell also held single season records for digs, kills and service aces.
During her junior campaign, Rockwell had two tremendous matches. She recorded 34 kills and 23 digs and 3 blocks in a victory over Whitworth, and 31 kills and 28 digs in a win against Eastern Oregon University.
“Part of Mandy’s strength was her intelligence,” said Coach Dean Snider. “She was a very strong hitter, but she also found holes in the defense. As a two-year captain, she also was the heart and soul of our team."
