Serrano Named Freshman of the Year, Four Others Named All-Conference

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Jacob Burrill and Lucas McAllister were named to the first team, and Kevin Serrano was voted Freshman of the Year to highlight five Whitman College men's soccer selections to the Northwest All-Conference Men's Soccer Team, announced Thursday by the league office.

Sawyer Valero was named to the second team and Serrano garnered honorable mention honors along with Jossue Tobar.

Burrill highlighted a group of three Blues in the NWC top 10 in goals scored. His 16 goals ranked second with Valero and Serrano ranking seventh both with seven goals. Burrill also ranked fifth in the league with seven assists ranking him second in total points.

McAllister garnered his second straight all-conference nod after earning second team honors last season. He was a key cog in Whitman's attack, impressing coaches every game while tallying three goals and four assists.

All five spearheaded what was another fine season for the program, finishing third after back-to-back wins against Puget Sound and eventual champion Pacific Lutheran to close the season.
