Women's Lacrosse Takes Down Pacific On Senior Day

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - In its final preparations for next weekend's Northwest Conference Tournament, the Whitman College women's lacrosse team scored 10 goals in the first quarter and coasted to a 19-6 victory over Pacific on Senior Day at Hayner Field.

After closing the regular season on a high note, the Blues (10-7, 6-6 NWC) now set their sights on the inaugural Northwest Conference Tournament held next weekend at George Fox.

Prior to the game, the Blues honored seniors Izzy Eggerling, Korin Wheaton, Bridget Essex, Madeleine Sherry, Lucy Magruder and Piper Brown for their contributions to Whitman women's lacrosse.

Whitman poured it on the Boxers in the opening 15 minutes. Gracie Maulik netted the first three goals and Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky scored the next three to put their team up 6-0 with just under four minutes remaining. Sherry then got in on the action with a pair of goals to help the Blues take a 10-0 lead into the second period.

Though the scoring spree did not continue, the damage had been done and the lead slipped below 10 only once and late in the fourth quarter.

Maulik led all scorers with five goals to go along with two assists. Pasena-Littlesky and Sherry both chipped in four more.

Wheaton had a solid day in goal for the Blues in recording five saves while allowing the six goals. Diane Crets posted six saves for the Boxers.
