BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The Whitman College men's golf team wrapped up a historic season, staying the course and finishing 17th in the nation after the fourth and final day of the NCAA Division III National Championship.

The week concluded after first year Mason Remington capped an unprecedented campaign with a PING/GCAA All-Region selection and was selected to the GCAA All-Freshman Team made up only of seven individuals.

After making the cut after Wednesday's second round, the Blues closed out day three in 17th and remained in the same spot and finished 21 over par for rounds three and four.

Alexander Knox was the top scorer for the Blues after carding an even par for the four days, but it was the aforementioned Remington who fired a scorching five under par on the final round and moved up 33 spots on the individual leaderboard to finish in a tie for 30th. His stroke total of 67 was the lowest on the day for the entire field, shared by only two other competitors, one from national champion Methodist University.

Ben Sweet closed the tournament with an even par and, like Remington, shot one over par for the tournament to finish in a tie for 30th. Jack Garnsey closed the tournament shooting 20 over 308 and Eshan Singh carded a 24 over 312.
