Women's Lacrosse Falls At George Fox In NWC Semifinal

NEWBERG, Ore. - The Whitman College women's lacrosse team saw George Fox open up a double-digit lead at halftime and were shut out in the third quarter en route to a 17-5 loss in the semifinals of the Northwest Conference Tournament.

Madeleine Sherry and Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky both scored a pair of goals and added an assist for the Blues who closed the season at 10-8 overall. The Bruins move on to the tournament final.

Renn Novak played the full 60 minutes in goal for the Blues and posted a solid nine saves. Emma Webb logged one save while giving up the five goals in net for the Bruins.

George Fox opened up a 4-0 lead before Sherry finally got her team on the board with 7:27 to play in the opening quarter. Izzy Eggering added another moments later but Ava Bluhm scored a pair of goals for GFU as part of a 4-0 run to close the quarter.

Bluhm helped George Fox pad the lead in the second quarter and open up a double digit lead after scoring to make it a 12-2 score. The third quarter saw Fox blank the Blues and seal the win in the fourth.
