Hawkins, Blues Roll Against Pacific Lutheran

TACOMA, Wash. - Looking to solidify the second seed in the upcoming Northwest Conference Tournament, the Whitman College women's lacrosse team overwhelmed Pacific Lutheran University 21-2 on Saturday afternoon.

With one game remaining in the league season, the Blues (11-4, 6-1 NWC) currently sit at second in the conference standings, one game back of George Fox and one ahead of Willamette, their likely opponent in the opening round.

Sarah Hawkins had her fingerprints all over Whitman's dominant win. She posted game highs of five goals and four assists to go along with five caused turnovers and six groundballs.

Ellie Milesi, Gracie Maulik and Teagan Huff also delivered impressive offensive performances. Maulik and Huff both scored four goals and Milesi registered three goals and three assists.

Joy Olson-Uderitz and Renn Novak made their presence known on the defensive end. Olson-Udertiz recorded game highs of seven groundballs and six caused turnovers, and Novak allowed only the two PLU goals in 60 minutes.

Whitman will look to lock in its No. 2 seed when it faces Puget Sound on Sunday to close out the regular season. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
