Women's Lacrosse Blanks Pacific In Home and NWC Opener

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Whitman College women's lacrosse team kicked off the league season in style, drowning Pacific 20-0 on Saturday afternoon at James Hayner Field.

The game was also the home opener for the Blues and saw Sarah Hawkins have a hand in half her team's goals. She scored four goals and posted a team season-high six assists.

Lola McConaghy and Garcie Maulik both chipped in three goals with Maulik adding an assist and scooping up five groundballs.

The shutout was also the first since 2023 when the Blues beat Spalding University 17-0.

While rarely threatened, Renn Novak played the duration and never gave an inch in earning the shutout. Sophie Shephard posted nine saves in her full match of action.

Ellie Milesi added two goals and two assists.

The Blues close out the weekend hosting perennial NWC power George Fox on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
