Men's Tennis Rebounds To Dominate Linfield

MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Whitman College men's tennis team inched closer to a return to the top of the Northwest Conference mountain. The Blues bounced back to win their fourth match in five games with a 6-1 win at Linfield on Sunday afternoon.

Whitman (13-12, 11-1 NWC) kept its one-game lead in the NWC standings over George Fox with only two games remaining in the league season. The Blues continue to control their own destiny in winning the regular season title and hosting the league tournament in two weeks time.

The Blues did face some adversity after failing to earn the doubles point. The point came down to the No. 3 court where Cameron Yang and Lucas Huang fell 6-4 to the Wildcat duo of Cameron Paulson and Matous Young.

The tides turned quickly in singles play. All four wins were accomplished via sweeps as the Blues cruised to the win.

The final weekend of league play now beckons as the Blues host Puget Sound and Lewis & Clark next Saturday and Sunday.
