A Record 10 Blues Named NWC Women's All-Conference Lacrosse

HILLSBORO, Ore. - After a stellar campaign that saw the Whitman College women's lacrosse program's first NWC Tournament final appearance, a record 10 Blues were named the Northwest All-Conference Women's Lacrosse Team, announced Tuesday by the league office.

Highlighting the recognition were Chris Duncan who was named the NWC Coach of the Year and Sarah Hawkins who garnered NWC Rookie of the Year honors. Sarah Hawkins was also selected first team all-conference along with Gracie Maulik, Joy Olson-Uderitz and Renn Novak.

Lola McConaghy and Teagan Huff both earned second-team honors; and Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky, Andrea Garcia and Taylor Hebert garnered honorable mention nods.

Duncan's honor comes in his first season as head coach of the Blues, one that saw him guide his team to the program's first NWC Tournament final. He boasted the program's best single-season conference winning percentage (.875) along with the most overall wins in program history.

Hawkins burst onto the scene and quickly made her mark as one of the conference's best players. During league play, she finished second in assists (26), seventh in goals (31) and second in total points (57).

The Blues fielded twice as many first-team selections as any other team. First year defender Olson-Uderitz and sophomore goalie Novak keyed one of the stingiest defenses in the league. Novak ranked near the top in most goalie statistical categories including goals against average (7.34) and save percentage (.424) where she ranked third in both. Olson-Udertiz did her part in front of the crease, ranking second in both groundballs (31) and groundballs per game (3.88) and fourth in caused turnovers (18).

Maulik's first-team honor was the fourth of her career beginning in 2022 when she was also named Freshman of the Year. She ranked ninth in both goals (24) and groundballs (23) and fifth in caused turnovers (19).
