SALEM, Ore. - Whitman College women's tennis teed off the season with a pair of solid performances. Representing the Blues as independents,
Samantha Torres and
Katie Jang both placed in a tie for sixth the Bearcat Invitational.
Both were pretty steady over the two-day, 36-hole tournament. They finished at 17 over par.
"We used this as a warm up into our fall season! I was impressed with their ball striking and can't wait to see how they work to improve. I know their teammates wanted to be there, but school comes first. Whitman golf is a top notch program, this team is going to do great things this year! Go Blues!"
