Maulik, Daigle Pace Blues, Magnuson Scores 100th Goal In Win At UPS

TACOMA, Wash. - Eliza Daigle and Gracie Maulik both scored a game-high four goals, Erin Magnuson scored her 100th career goal, and the Whitman College women's lacrosse team kept it rolling with a 17-4 win at Puget Sound in Northwest Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Korin Wheaton (7 saves) had another fine outing in goal for the Blues who remain one back in the loss column behind George Fox.

Maya Sheklow and Cat Schilli both scored a pair of goals to account for the Logger scoring.

Maulik was on fire early, scoring each of Whitman's first three goals to put her team up 3-0. UPS got on the board midway through the opening period when Sheklow got her first with 8:22 to play. She scored her second and final goal late to cut the lead to 6-2.

Whitman all but put the game away by pitching a shutout in the second quarter. Maulik and Daigle along with Izzy Eggerling and Olivia Banuelos each scored to make it a 10-2 game at halftime.

UPS scored a pair of goals in the third quarter, but the Whitman defense was too stingy for any type of comeback and held the Loggers scoreless for the final 24:02 of the game.

Whitman and UPS play once more on the weekend with the Loggers playing host again on Easter Sunday. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
