Women's Lacrosse Takes Down Linfield

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky posted career and game highs of five goals and three assists to lead the Whitman College women's lacrosse team to a 16-6 win over Linfield on Sunday afternoon at Hayner Field.

Madeleine Sherry and Gracie Maulik provided their fair share of scoring as well. They scored four and three goals respectively for Whitman (9-4, 5-4 NWC) whose six goals against was a season low. Mackenzie Kulick and Maizri Chandler both scored a pair of goals for the Wildcats with Chandler adding an assist.

Renn Novak and Korin Wheaton each played a half in net for the Blues with both recording three saves. Tenley Hodge posted five saves in a full game of action for Linfield (4-8, 3-7 NWC).

It was a slow start to the game for both teams. Maddie Jones opened the scoring with a goal under three minutes into the game, but Kulick scored consecutive goals to put Linfield up 2-1 with 8:15 to play in the period. Whitman locked in defensively for the remainder of the period as Maulik, Izzy Eggerling and Sherry all scored to put Whitman up by two at quarter's end.

The stalwart defense continued into the second quarter and beyond. Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky scored three consecutive goals early in the period to extend the lead to five, and Maulik and Sherry both added another to give the Blues a seven-goal halftime lead.

Whitman pulled away with five goals in the fourth quarter.

The Blues have a quick turnaround before traveling to Whitworth on Wednesday, April 17. Start time against the Pirates is set for 5:00 p.m.
