Women's Lacrosse Dominates Puget Sound

TACOMA, Wash. - Madeleine Sherry scored a game-high five goals to go along with three assists and keep the Whitman College women's lacrosse team's postseason hopes alive with a 17-6 win over the University of Puget Sound in Northwest Conference action on Sunday afternoon.

Izzy Eggerling and Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky both added three goals for the Blues (9-6, 5-5 NWC) who currently hold the final spot in the league's postseason tournament with two games to play.

Maggie Ott and Cat Schilli both scored twice to lead UPS.

Renn Novak posted nine saves in goal for the Blues with Phoebe Crowther and Bianca Nolan combining for seven saves for the Loggers.

Whitman set the tone early and led by 10 goals at halftime. Sherry scored the first two goals of the match and added her third to help her team to a 6-2 lead through one quarter. Whitman took control in the second, scoring another six goals while keeping UPS off the scoresheet to lead 12-2 at the break.

The Blues close the regular season next weekend hosting Willamette on Saturday and Pacific on Sunday. Both start times are set for 1:00 p.m.
