Women's Lacrosse Falls At Willamette

SALEM, Ore. - The Whitman College women's lacrosse team was unable to muster much offense, scoring once in the first half and twice in the second in a 19-3 loss at Willamette in Northwest Conference play on Saturday afternoon.

Madeleine Sherry collected two of Whitman's goals with Lindsey Pasena-Littlesky scoring the third.

Lily Bachiochi and Brooklynn Pearl provided the bulk of the scoring for the Bearcats with each posting a game-high five goals and Bachiochi adding six assists.

The opening quarter saw Pearl and Bachiochi both net a pair of goals to lead by six at the end of the period. Whitman nearly went the entire period before finally getting on the scoreboard. Gracie Maulik assisted on a Sherry goal but the Bearcats still led 7-1.

The Blues (6-4, 2-3 NWC) scored one goal each in the third and fourth quarters but Willamette continued to expand the lead before pulling away for the win.

Renn Novak and Korin Wheaton each played one half in goal for the Blues and posted a combined seven saves. Olivia Austin recorded six saves in net for the Bearcats.

Whitman remains on the road and will play Pacific on Sunday, April 7 at 1:00 p.m.
