Women's Lacrosse Tops Montana State Club AT WhitLax Classic

SPOKANE, Wash. - The Whitman College women's lacrosse team took the field as one on Saturday for the first time and took down Montana State Club 16-13 in exhibition action at the WhitLax Classic.

Gracie Maulik and Sarah Hawkins both scored a team-high four goals for the Blues who trailed 8-4 after one quarter. Ellie Milesi added three goals and three assists.

Teagan Boggess shared game-high honors for Montana State also with four goals while also tallying an assist.

After trailing by four goals after one period, the Blues turned it on offensively and defensively and outscored Montana State 11-4 over the next two quarters. They only surrendered five combined goals after the first quarter.

Renn Novak posted 12 saves in goal for the Blues and Ellyce Davis had 11 saves for Montana State.

The Blues conclude the Classic on Sunday against Eastern Oregon with their first official game. Start time is set for 2:00 p.m.
